I use Ipswich at night occasionally - this photo nicely captures the 'ambience' of the station at night.

Is the difference just the colour or is there a size difference aswell?

Just the colour. This photo was taken at the time when train companies had to repaint their stock so that the doors were a different colour to the rest of the carriage

Tony, Epsom had a signalbox very much the same as Waterford, but was sadly taken away in 1993.

Yes, indeed Epsom did. Removed during the blitz of 1993 when New Malden lost its signalbox and Effingham Junction lost its carriage sheds!

I have no idea what type of train this is from or why it is in Network South East livery when it's an Underground carriage! Whatever it is, it is seen, at Acton Depot

A sight you would not normally see [as a standard class passenger] on an HST, the door to access the power car! On normal HSTs the TGS vehicle has a small guards area adjacent to the power car, as Grand Central uses ex West Coast Mk IIIs they do not have a TGS vehicle hence this view is possible!

A train of 73ts at Heathrow Terminal 5. There is no flash photography on the Underground, however, even if you use no flash at Heathrow you will be told (wrongly!) that you can't photograph in the station there, or at least I was!

Actually photography is prohibited at Heathrow Terminal 5 as it is a BAA site. It is allowed at the tube stations for T4 and T123 as they are owned by LU.

No they wont gradually replace the Pioneers. They are staying with First Hull Trains, the 180s are simply providing extra capacity and replacing 103 while its repaired. 180111 is also only on temporary loan to FHT while their own 180s are refurbished

Well a year later and the Pioneers did get cascaded to EMT and the Adelantes have taken over!

Class 56 seen inbetween 47847/799 and 56058 is actually 56071. 56071 leads a line of two other examples, hidden, being 56059 and 56060. Hope it helps
